The Republican Party in Virginia is a political party in the Commonwealth that is hell bent on surrender and personal gain over ethics, integrity, principles, and electoral success.
Here's how it works:
Local Units
The heart of the party, the rank and file, the basic atom of the party.
They exist to elect Republicans within a county or city unit.
(Yes Virginia, even School Boards, AND non-party nominated county-wide offices -- non-partisan means that the party does not choose a nominee for the contest. -- dems use this as the farm team for higher political office.
Legislative District - House
A representative group of the unit chairmen within the particular legislative district.
They exist to choose the method and support the election of the House of Delegate member that represents the units and partial units that constitute that legislative district.
Legislative District - Senate
A representative group of the unit chairmen within the particular legislative district.
They exist to choose the method and support the election of the Senate member that represents the units and partial units that constitute that legislative district.
Congressional District - Congress
A representative group of the unit chairmen within the particular congressional district.
They exist to choose the method and support the election of the Congressman that represents the units and partial units that constitute that congressional district.
Republican Party of Virginia (RPV)
A group of allegedly representative members that assemble approximately four times a year to make weighty decisions about the functioning of the Republican Party of Virginia.
They exist to choose the method and support the election of statewide offices that should represent the will of each of the congressional district Republicans, augmented by "bonus seats" for the districts that manage to win their district for Governor and President, representatives from various "Republican affinity groups, as well as majority-proofing cronies to counter the political will of the grassroots, rank, and file of Virginia Republicans.

What makes up the RPV?
The State Central Committee (SCC) of the Republican Party of Virginia (RPV) serves as the governing body of the party between state conventions. Its constitution, membership, and structure are defined in Article III of the Plan of Organization of the Republican Party of Virginia (State Party Plan), as most recently amended on August 16, 2025. This remains the current governing document as of January 2026, with no subsequent statewide amendments indicated in available sources.
Duties (Article III, Section D): The SCC formulates party policies, executes plans, calls conventions, fills vacancies, and handles other governance matters in conformity with the State Party Plan.

The SCC consists of a combination of elected, ex officio, and appointed members. Key categories include:

One additional member per District that cast a plurality vote for the Republican Presidential nominee in the most recent presidential election.
